He Stands At The Door

by Ron Tranmer

He stands at the door and knocks.
Shall we open and let Him come in?
Are we hiding behind its locks,
Unwilling because of our sin?

He knocks at the door to our heart.
He can heal, and again make us whole.
Opening our door is the start.
He'll bring comfort and peace to our soul.

His love for us keeps Him out there.
He patiently waits where He stands.
If we wonder, does He really care?
We can look at the prints in His hands.

He suffered and died on a cross.
Our sins He willingly bore.
His atonement can save us from loss.
He waits. Let us open our door.
