God Gave Me A Mother

God gave me a mother, and I'll never know,
why He gave me the best. He must love me so.
Or maybe in knowing my spirit and soul,
He knew understanding should be His main goal.
He knew she would need Job's patience for me.
He knew she would need the strength of a tree.
Wisdom and tenderness for the times I would fall.
And then the ingredient most blessed of them all;
I believe after choosing my mother on earth,
He gave her a gift . One of great worth
A gift that I realize, now that I'm grown,
He gave her great love like that of His own.
